RAMS Engineer – Reliability & Safety for Metro & LRT

About the role

The RAMS Engineer will join the Engineering team to ensure that metro and Light Rail Transit (LRT) systems, subsystems, infrastructure and assets meet reliability, availability, maintainability and safety standards throughout their lifecycle. The role focuses on minimizing downtime, enhancing operational safety and guaranteeing compliance with international railway standards.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive RAMS plans, define requirements and set performance indicators in collaboration with design, operations and maintenance teams.
• Conduct reliability predictions, Failure Modes, Effects and Criticality Analyses (FMEA/FMECA) and monitor system availability to identify and mitigate downtime causes.
• Assess maintainability, support maintenance optimisation, spare‑parts planning and propose design changes that reduce lifecycle costs.
• Perform hazard identification, risk assessments and safety analyses (HAZOP, HAZID) ensuring compliance with EN 50126, EN 50128 and EN 50129.
• Participate in testing, commissioning and acceptance activities, analyse field data and simulation results to validate RAMS requirements.
• Prepare detailed RAMS documentation, safety cases and technical records; liaise with regulatory authorities and certification bodies.

Required profile

• Strong background in railway or transport engineering with experience in RAMS methodology.
• Proven ability to work across multidisciplinary teams and communicate technical requirements clearly.
• Commitment to safety culture and adherence to company safety policies.
