R&D Engineer

About the role

In this role you will contribute to ABB’s success through technology, software, product and system development. You will identify and implement innovative solutions, work both independently and as part of a Research & Development team.

Key responsibilities

• Work as an independent and reliable contributor on R&D projects with limited supervision.
• Perform tasks across mechanics, electronics, thermal and software domains, from concept building and requirements gathering to design, implementation, integration, testing, technology transfer, maintenance and operations.
• Apply relevant processes, standards, guidelines and architectural/design constraints.
• Drive achievement of targets (quality, time, scope, cost) while identifying and addressing risks.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, preferably Mechanical Design or Mechatronics.
• 4–6 years of experience in mechanical design, especially sheet metal and plastic design.
• Knowledge of sheet metal and plastic manufacturing processes.
• Strong communication skills in Arabic and English.
• Passion for solving complex technical problems.
