Senior Foreign Buyer & Planner

About the role

Ariika is seeking a highly organized and analytical Senior Foreign Buyer & Planner to join its Supply Chain team. You will be responsible for managing international purchasing, demand planning, and inventory optimization to ensure product availability while controlling costs.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute purchasing plans for imported products based on demand forecasts and inventory needs.
• Manage relationships with international suppliers, negotiating pricing, payment terms, lead times and commercial agreements.
• Create, review and maintain purchase orders, ensuring timely placement and follow‑up until delivery.
• Monitor inventory levels and demand trends to optimize stock availability and minimise excess.
• Coordinate with logistics, freight forwarders and customs brokers for smooth shipment execution.
• Track supplier performance (delivery reliability, quality, responsiveness) and implement corrective actions.
• Collaborate with Merchandising, Product Development, Finance, Warehouse and Logistics to align purchasing plans with business priorities.
• Analyse sales, forecasts and inventory data to identify replenishment needs and purchasing opportunities.
• Manage supplier lead times and proactively mitigate supply‑chain risks.
• Prepare procurement reports, inventory analysis, KPIs and recommendations for management.
• Identify cost‑saving opportunities, process improvements and supply‑chain optimisation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics or a related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in foreign purchasing, demand planning or supply chain, preferably in retail, furniture, home décor or consumer goods.
• Strong knowledge of international sourcing, import procedures and inventory planning.
• Excellent negotiation and supplier‑relationship management skills.
• Advanced proficiency in English (written and spoken) and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
