Senior GL Accountant

About the role

A Senior GL Accountant position based in Nasr City, Egypt, responsible for maintaining and closing the general ledger, preparing financial statements under IFRS and Egyptian GAAP, and supporting ERP implementation and consolidation.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts and lead month-end and year-end closing.
• Prepare journal entries, accruals, prepayments and adjustments, and perform foreign currency revaluation and account analysis.
• Review trial balances and balance sheet reconciliations, and prepare financial statements under IFRS and Egyptian GAAP.
• Manage intercompany reconciliations, support group consolidations and prepare consolidated reports across entities.
• Manage the fixed asset lifecycle (capitalization, depreciation, impairments, disposals) and monitor WIP capitalization for institutional projects.
• Support internal and external audits, maintain accounting procedures and documentation, and ensure compliance with standards and policies.
• Drive process automation and work with Finance, Operations and ERP teams, including Odoo implementation, upgrades and enhancements.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• 4-6 years of experience in General Ledger accounting and financial reporting.
• Nice to have: professional certification (DipIFR, CMA, ACCA or CPA), multi-entity consolidation experience, and experience leading ERP projects.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of IFRS, Egyptian GAAP and international accounting standards.
• Hands-on Odoo ERP experience.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel.
• Nice to have: Power BI and SQL.
