Senior Warehouse Shipping & Receiving Specialist

About the role

The Senior Warehouse Shipping & Receiving Specialist will lead all shipping and receiving activities at Hitachi Energy's warehouse, ensuring smooth material flow, accurate inventory, and compliance with safety and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily loading, unloading, inspection, counting, storage, and dispatch of materials.
• Verify incoming and outgoing shipments against purchase orders, invoices and packing lists.
• Operate forklifts, pallet jacks and other material‑handling equipment safely.
• Prepare shipping documents such as bills of lading, customs forms and labels.
• Coordinate with production, procurement and sales to guarantee timely material availability.
• Maintain precise inventory records through scanning, data entry and cycle counts.
• Identify and report discrepancies, damages or quality issues.
• Assist in optimizing warehouse layout for efficient storage and retrieval.
• Train and mentor junior staff on procedures and safety protocols.
• Support periodic inventory audits and process‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate’s degree in logistics or supply chain preferred.
• 3‑5 years of warehouse shipping & receiving experience with senior‑level responsibilities.
• Valid forklift certification preferred.
• Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory control and logistics processes.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lb and stand for extended periods.
