Settlement & Chargeback Team Leader/Manager (Operations)

About the role

The Settlement & Chargeback Team Leader/Manager will oversee the end‑to‑end settlement and reconciliation processes for card and digital banking transactions. Reporting to the Head of Operations, this role ensures compliance with internal policies, MasterCard/Visa regulations, and delivers accurate analytical reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Approve settlement and reconciliation of all card, ATM, Fawry, internet banking, e‑wallet and payroll transactions.
• Manage relationships with ADIB, MasterCard, Visa and other banks for on‑us/off‑us issuer and acquirer settlements.
• Monitor and resolve rejected covered‑card transactions and chargeback cases, applying correct reason codes.
• Coordinate with Compliance & Governance on international transaction reporting and FX reporting to Treasury.
• Lead a small team, ensuring periodic training, performance evaluation and RCSA compliance reviews.
• Prepare periodical analytical reports and presentations for senior management.

Required profile

• Proven experience in settlement, reconciliation and chargeback operations within banking or payments.
• Strong understanding of MasterCard and Visa chargeback regulations and SLA management.
• Ability to supervise and develop junior staff, conduct training and performance reviews.
• Excellent analytical and reporting skills with attention to detail.

Required skills

• Card payment processing and settlement systems.
• Electronic transaction reconciliation (Tahweel switch tracking system, NPC FTP, Fawry FTP, Internet Banking).
• ACH and SWIFT transaction handling.
• MasterCard/Visa chargeback regulation compliance.
• FX transaction reporting to Treasury.
