Trade Operator – Bulk Commodities

About the role

The Trade Operator supports the full trade lifecycle for bulk commodities, ensuring accurate execution, confirmation, settlement and monitoring of transactions. Working closely with traders, banks, brokers, logistics and finance teams, the role guarantees smooth and compliant trade operations.

Key responsibilities

• Execute and process trade transactions accurately and promptly.
• Monitor trade lifecycles from deal execution through settlement.
• Verify trade details for compliance with company policies and market regulations.
• Prepare and review trade confirmations, contracts, invoices and shipping documents.
• Coordinate with logistics, finance and commercial teams to facilitate seamless trade execution.
• Track shipments, deliveries and inventory movements where applicable.
• Resolve discrepancies related to pricing, quantities, documentation or settlements.
• Maintain accurate records of all trading activities and generate operational reports.
• Liaise with banks on letters of credit, collections and trade finance activities.
• Support traders with operational tasks and monitor market positions.
• Ensure adherence to internal controls, risk management procedures and regulatory requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Economics, Finance, Supply Chain or a related field.
• 2–5 years of experience in trade operations, commodity trading, logistics or supply chain.
• Strong understanding of international trade procedures and documentation.
• Knowledge of Incoterms, Letters of Credit and trade finance is preferred.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and communication abilities.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple transactions simultaneously.
