About the role
St. Andrew’s Refugee Services (StARS) is seeking a motivated volunteer to join its Protection Program as a Legal Advisor. This unpaid internship offers hands‑on experience supporting refugees and vulnerable migrants in central Cairo.
Key responsibilities
- Provide free legal advice and assistance to refugees on protection, residency, and asylum matters.
- Assist clients in preparing and reviewing legal documents and applications.
- Conduct legal research on national and international refugee law.
- Support the organization’s legal workshops and community outreach events.
- Collaborate with the psychosocial and education teams to ensure holistic support for beneficiaries.
Required profile
- Current law student, recent graduate, or individual with a strong interest in human‑rights law.
- Fluent in Arabic and English, both written and spoken.
- Demonstrated commitment to refugee protection and humanitarian work.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
