Brightly Cloud Engineering Intern

About the role

Join Siemens Digital Industry Software’s Brightly Team in Cairo as a Cloud Engineering Intern through the Strategic Student Program. You will work on real‑world cloud infrastructure projects, gaining hands‑on experience with AWS, automation, and observability tools while collaborating with engineers and customers.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain infrastructure‑as‑code using Terraform or CloudFormation for AWS accounts, networking, and shared platform components.
• Support CI/CD pipelines and automation workflows (GitHub Actions, Jenkins) that deploy infrastructure securely and repeatably.
• Develop observability assets such as dashboards, alerts, logging, and runbooks using CloudWatch, Prometheus, or Grafana.
• Assist with cloud security fundamentals, including least‑privilege IAM, secrets management, and encryption.
• Investigate operational issues, perform root‑cause analysis, and implement improvements.
• Create and improve engineering documentation for teammates and future interns.
• Deliver a scoped summer project with measurable outcomes and present the results to the team.

Required profile

• 3rd or 4th‑year student in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
• Comfortable writing code or scripts in Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
• Willingness to learn new tools quickly and work in a collaborative environment.
