Buyer – Procurement (International)

About the role

ABB is seeking an experienced Buyer to join its Procurement team in Egypt. You will be responsible for sourcing and purchasing materials that meet technical specifications, price, delivery schedules and contractual terms while supporting the company’s lean and clean industrial solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Initiate and manage Purchase Orders in SAP according to requisitions and corporate procedures.
• Confirm deliveries, monitor supplier performance and ensure compliance with PO requirements.
• Negotiate agreements, renew price lists and terms with main suppliers.
• Recommend and execute frame agreements after management approval.
• Analyse bids to select optimal value and identify new suppliers in collaboration with the category team.
• Ensure all purchasing activities align with ABB’s policies and procedures.

Required profile

• 2‑5 years of foreign procurement experience, managing international suppliers and logistics.
• Deep understanding of the Egyptian import market and customs clearance processes.
• Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field (advantageous).
• Strong English communication skills for coordination with overseas suppliers.
• High ethical standards and commitment to transparent, compliant transactions.

Required skills

• SAP ERP for Purchase Order creation and management.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel for tracking and reporting.
• Knowledge of Egyptian customs clearance procedures.
• Familiarity with Incoterms and international trade documentation.
