Clerk - Reservations

About the role

We are looking for a detail‑oriented Clerk – Reservations to join our team at a Marriott International property in the Red Sea region of Egypt. In this full‑time position you will be the first point of contact for guests making reservations by phone, fax or mail, ensuring a smooth and professional booking experience.

Key responsibilities

• Process all reservation requests, changes and cancellations received via phone, fax or mail.
• Identify guest needs, verify room type availability and rates, and explain guarantee, special rate and cancellation policies.
• Enter accurate data into the reservation system, including special room types such as complimentary rooms, employee discounts and travel‑agent rates.
• Accommodate and document special requests, answer questions about property facilities and services, and apply sales techniques to maximize revenue.
• Follow escalation procedures for guest concerns and adhere to all company policies, confidentiality and security standards.
• Maintain a professional appearance, support guests with disabilities, and provide courteous telephone etiquette.
• Perform light physical tasks such as moving objects up to 10 lb and undertake other reasonable duties as assigned.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• No prior reservation or supervisory experience required.
• Ability to communicate clearly and professionally in English.
• Capability to lift and move items weighing up to 10 lb without assistance.
• Commitment to uphold company policies, guest privacy and quality standards.

Required skills

• Proficiency with a reservation system and data‑entry tasks.
• Basic computer literacy for accessing and updating reservation information.
• Customer‑service orientation and sales‑technique awareness.
