Computational BIM Engineer

About the role

e.construct, an engineering firm with 7 offices worldwide that designs bridges, high-rises, precast concrete and post-tensioning structures, is looking for a Computational BIM Engineer. The role works at the intersection of technology, design and construction, helping to build software tools that automate BIM tasks and perform complex calculations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, automate and optimize parametric BIM models with Revit, Rhino and tools such as Dynamo, Grasshopper, Python and .NET
• Use computational design tools and scripting (C#, Python) to automate tasks, optimize design and generate geometric forms
• Help create and manage BIM libraries, parametric templates and standards, including automation workflows
• Support BIM coordination and clash detection to improve project delivery
• Work with external consultants, contractors and stakeholders on BIM information exchange
• Develop computational tools and templates that support BIM workflows and standards
• Stay up to date with BIM, computational design and parametric modeling advances, and propose process improvements
• Contribute to BIM and computational design training
• Monitor, troubleshoot and update computational tools, templates and workflows

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in architecture, civil engineering or a related field; a master's in computational engineering is a plus
• Strong written and verbal communication, analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work in multidisciplinary teams and meet deadlines

Required skills

• Experience with BIM software (Revit, Rhino)
• .NET (C#) programming is required; Python is a plus
• Software design skills (SOLID principles, design patterns) are desirable
• Parametric design tools (Grasshopper, Dynamo) are a plus
• Experience developing engineering software tools is advantageous
