About the role
The Order Taker in Room Dining will be the first point of contact for guests calling to place in‑room dining orders. You will ensure a friendly, professional experience while accurately capturing food and beverage requests and coordinating delivery.
Key responsibilities
- Answer incoming guest calls, provide menu information, and take food and beverage orders.
- Confirm order details, including dietary restrictions, special requests, and preferred delivery times.
- Enter orders promptly into the hotel’s POS system and relay accurate information to kitchen, bar, and housekeeping teams.
- Monitor order progress, communicate any delays, and ensure timely delivery to guest rooms.
- Prepare and present itemised bills, resolve billing discrepancies, and process payments (cash, credit card, etc.).
- Maintain a clean, organized workspace and keep menus and promotional materials up‑to‑date.
- Assist with inventory monitoring for in‑room dining supplies and report restocking needs.
- Follow all food safety and hygiene standards.
Required profile
- Strong communication skills with a courteous phone manner.
- Ability to handle multiple orders accurately and efficiently.
- Attention to detail regarding guest preferences, allergies, and special instructions.
- Previous experience in hospitality, restaurant, or food‑service environments is preferred but not mandatory.
Required skills
- Proficiency with a Point‑of‑Sale (POS) system.
