Production Associate

About the role

Smurfit Westrock is seeking a Production Associate to join its Lanett, AL facility. The role involves supporting the packaging line by handling pallets, labeling, and ensuring product quality while adhering to safety standards. The position can be assigned to either a day or night shift.

Key responsibilities

• Remove packed cases from the conveyor and place them on pallets.
• Apply labels to pallets and alert operators to any carton defects.
• Follow all safety rules, participate in plant safety processes, and wear required PPE.
• Maintain high equipment uptime and accurately input production data.
• Participate in preventative maintenance and cross‑train as a Feeder Inspector/Packer in Finishing.
• Keep the stack‑off area organized and maintain housekeeping standards.

Required profile

• GED or High School diploma.
• Ability to read and follow manuals, procedures, and work instructions.
• Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
• Capability to perform routine tasks in a defined sequence.
• Decision‑making limited to short‑range, team‑level issues.
• Willingness to work any shift and in uncontrolled temperature environments.
• Physical ability to stand, walk, lift up to 50 lb, and perform occasional kneeling or crouching.
