Remote Maths Expert – $346 per Task (Short‑term Contract)

About the role

We are looking for a highly qualified mathematics specialist to design and solve challenging problems that will be used to evaluate large language models. The position is fully remote, short‑term, and compensated per approved task.

Key responsibilities

• Develop original mathematics problems covering undergraduate to PhD‑level topics for LLM benchmarking.
• Provide clear, step‑by‑step solutions with detailed reasoning and visual explanations.
• Collaborate with LLM researchers to create and refine evaluation benchmarks.
• Analyze complex mathematical questions using logical and structured approaches.
• Help define new benchmark suites that test reasoning and problem‑solving abilities of models.

Required profile

• Master’s degree, Ph.D., or current Ph.D. candidate in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics or a related field.
• Strong research, analytical, and creative thinking abilities.
• Excellent written communication and ability to work effectively in a remote team.

Required skills

• Proficiency in at least three of the following tools: Magma, Macaulay2, Singular, GAP, SageMath, Polymake, 4ti2, LattE, DIPHA, PHAT, AUTO‑07P, XPPAUT, Perseus, Stan, PyMC, OR‑Tools, Z3, PARI/GP, fpLLL.
