SAP Unit Lead – S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

About the role

The SAP Unit Lead will own the operation of the SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition platform for a multi‑entity, project‑driven organization. You will drive a fit‑to‑standard implementation, ensure disciplined governance, and keep the core clean while supporting finance, procurement, and project accounting processes.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the end‑to‑end implementation of SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition, steering configuration through Central Business Configuration.
• Govern extensibility, ensuring all extensions follow clean‑core and BTP guidelines.
• Manage and quality‑check deliverables from the external SAP implementation partner.
• Maintain transaction integrity, master data governance, and issue triage in the live environment.
• Oversee the bi‑annual SAP upgrade cycle, testing changes and translating new capabilities into business value.
• Guide finance, procurement, and project teams toward standard processes and best practices.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of SAP experience (S/4HANA or ECC) with hands‑on delivery on S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition.
• Proven track record of at least one full implementation through go‑live or sustained live operation.
• Deep knowledge of the fit‑to‑standard approach (SAP Activate, Central Business Configuration, clean‑core extensibility).
• Cross‑process expertise covering finance & controlling, procurement & inventory, and project accounting.
• Experience building or restoring master data and ensuring transaction integrity in a live system.
• Demonstrated ability to lead an implementation partner and reject sub‑standard work.
• Team leadership experience and a relevant university degree.
