Security Incident Manager – Junior SOC Engineer

About the role

As a Junior SOC Engineer (L1.5) you will be the first technical layer supporting security operations, handling initial investigation, triage and enrichment of security incidents. You will work closely with SOC analysts, incident managers and technical experts to ensure fast, effective handling of alerts and operational requests across a global customer base.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and assess security events, validate alerts and perform first‑level technical analysis.
• Collect relevant evidence, enrich tickets with clear findings and ensure proper escalation to resolver teams.
• Support incident communication and follow defined runbooks and processes.
• Contribute to service improvement initiatives and maintain strong SLA performance.
• Collaborate with SOC analysts and incident managers to improve response efficiency.

Required profile

• Motivated to build a career in cybersecurity operations.
• Analytical, structured and able to work calmly under pressure while managing multiple tasks.
• Strong communication skills, sense of ownership and willingness to learn from real operational cases.
• Basic understanding of networking, security concepts and incident management fundamentals.

Required skills

• Familiarity with SIEM platforms.
• Experience with ticketing systems.
• Knowledge of EDR solutions.
• Understanding of firewalls and monitoring platforms.
• Fundamental knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, VPN.
• Basic Windows and Linux operating system concepts.
• Awareness of common cybersecurity threats.
