Senior Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) Developer / Architect

About the role

This senior position is responsible for designing, building, and optimizing Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) solutions that drive Arrow Digital’s customer‑focused digital experience. The role combines deep AEM architecture expertise with headless front‑end development using React and Next.js, ensuring high performance, security, and scalability.

Key responsibilities

• Architect end‑to‑end headless solutions with AEM as the content source and React/Next.js for rendering.
• Design Server‑Side Rendering (SSR) and Static Site Generation (SSG) architectures for SEO‑friendly sites.
• Define and implement AEM headless content models, including Content Fragments, Models, and APIs.
• Develop reusable, scalable AEM components, templates, workflows, and dispatcher configurations.
• Guide AEM Cloud implementations and align with Adobe’s cloud‑native capabilities.
• Collaborate with DevOps, security, and system administration teams on deployments and optimizations.
• Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and enforce development standards.
• Troubleshoot complex authoring, performance, and integration issues across the AEM platform.
• Oversee integrations with Adobe CJA Analytics, Adobe Launch, and third‑party services.
• Lead code reviews, design sessions, and maintain comprehensive technical documentation.

Required profile

• Significant hands‑on experience with AEM 6.x or AEM as a Cloud Service, including Sites and Assets.
• Strong background in Java, Java EE, OSGi, Apache Sling, and HTL (Sightly).
• Proven expertise in headless architectures, React, Next.js, and SSR/SSG patterns.
• Experience delivering solutions in Agile/Scrum environments and mentoring development teams.
• Deep understanding of caching, CDN, load balancing, and performance tuning for large‑scale web platforms.
