Senior Maintenance Mechanic – Industrial Machinery

About the role

Greif is seeking a Senior Maintenance Mechanic to lead preventative and corrective maintenance of its industrial packaging equipment. The role involves hands‑on troubleshooting, equipment calibration, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives within a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance according to established procedures, including visual inspections, fluid checks, lubrication, cleaning, tightening, and component adjustments.
• Conduct diagnostic tests on machinery to assess condition, performance, and functionality, and develop short‑term and long‑term repair plans.
• Troubleshoot complex mechanical issues, determine required materials and tools, and execute advanced repairs and overhauls.
• Document all maintenance and repair activities, record parts used, and complete work orders, RCA reports, and inspection sheets.
• Inspect and maintain workshop tools and equipment, ensuring reliability and mentoring junior technicians on proper care.
• Manage inventory of supplies, place replacement orders, and verify receipts.
• Participate in projects involving installation, modification, or relocation of machinery, providing technical guidance and safety oversight.
• Follow technical documents, blueprints, schematics, and P&IDs, and contribute feedback for continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Proven experience performing preventative maintenance on industrial machinery.
• Strong ability to diagnose and resolve complex mechanical problems.
• Experience mentoring or guiding less‑experienced technicians.
• Familiarity with documenting maintenance activities and completing related paperwork.
