Signalling Installation Design Engineer

About the role

Alstom is seeking a full‑time Signalling Installation Design Engineer to join its Cairo team. You will work closely with cross‑functional groups to deliver high‑quality signalling solutions that ensure safe and efficient railway operations.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and execute Installation Engineering (IE) activities, including drawings, specifications, work method statements and Bill of Materials.
• Support field teams by reviewing deliverables, handling design modifications and change requests based on site inputs.
• Review civil interface drawings and define signalling equipment requirements for space allocation and cable trunking.
• Produce installation material specifications, Bill of Quantities and as‑built documentation.
• Conduct site surveys during preparation and execution phases.
• Liaise with BIM coordinators and modelers to align IE studies and deliverables.
• Ensure compliance with project execution requirements, local regulations and Alstom processes.

• Passion for engineering and a collaborative, detail‑oriented mindset.
• Ability to work with multidisciplinary teams and adapt to site‑driven changes.
• Willingness to contribute to best‑practice definition and continuous improvement.

Required skills

• Installation engineering drawing preparation (cable plans, wiring diagrams, general installation drawings).
• Bill of Materials (BOM) and Bill of Quantities (BoQ) creation.
• BIM coordination for signalling projects.
