2nd Commis – Kitchen Assistant

About the role

The 2nd Commis supports the culinary team at our hotel kitchen in Cairo, preparing ingredients, cooking simple dishes, and maintaining a clean, safe work environment. This full‑time, onsite position is ideal for someone with basic kitchen experience who wants to grow within a leading hospitality brand.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients by portioning, chopping, washing, peeling, weighing, and measuring.
• Cook and assemble cold and hot foods according to recipes, quality, and presentation standards.
• Operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers safely.
• Monitor food quality, test doneness, and ensure correct temperatures.
• Set up and break down work stations, serve food in proper portions, and maintain cleanliness of the kitchen, tools, and equipment.
• Follow all safety, security, and company policies, reporting any hazards or incidents.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• At least one year of related kitchen or food‑service experience.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift up to 25 lb, and work in a fast‑paced environment.
• Professional appearance and strong communication skills.
