Account Manager - Research Intelligence, Middle East & Africa

About the role

As Account Manager, you will manage and grow Elsevier's Research Intelligence portfolio across the Middle East and Africa, owning renewals and upsell opportunities. You will partner with cross-functional teams to drive revenue growth, ensure smooth contract execution and maintain strong customer relationships. The role suits a commercially driven professional who enjoys SaaS solutions and customer engagement.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the Research Intelligence (RI) portfolio across the Middle East and Africa
• Own and drive renewals, cross-sell and upsell opportunities, including multi-year contracts
• Partner with cross-functional teams to grow revenue and expand accounts
• Coordinate with Sales, Finance, Legal, Customer Success Managers, Product and Operations for smooth renewal execution
• Review and negotiate contract terms and keep accurate data in CRM, Clari, Gong and SalesCloud
• Build strong customer relationships and promote the wider Elsevier RI portfolio
• Support regional marketing activities and consortium initiatives
• Achieve quarterly and annual renewal and new business targets

Required profile

• 3+ years' experience in a commercial, sales or renewal-focused role
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Management or a related field
• Experience selling SaaS solutions preferred
• Strong understanding of research solutions, contracts and end-to-end sales operations
• Proven self-starter with experience managing complex renewals
• Excellent communication, presentation and stakeholder-management skills
• Fluent English; native or fluent Arabic is a strong plus
