Accountant

About the role

HVD Egypt, a leader in the biomedical and life sciences sector, is looking for a skilled Accountant to join its finance team. The role focuses on accurate financial record‑keeping, compliance, and providing actionable insights to support business growth.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and review financial records, including expenses, invoices, collections, and revenues.
• Prepare and maintain accounts receivable reports and track outstanding payments.
• Produce regular financial reports and deliver insights to senior management.
• Perform general ledger accounting, bank reconciliations, and monitor deposits, collections, and payments.
• Maintain tax records and ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
• Review purchase orders, quotations, and acknowledgments for financial policy compliance.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and reconcile invoices with shipments.
• Track fixed‑asset depreciation and manage expense transactions.
• Support additional accounting duties such as UPA reports, sales reports, and financial analyses.
• Collaborate with other departments to align financial processes with organizational goals.
• Conduct financial analysis to identify cost‑saving opportunities and aid budgeting and forecasting.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• 2–5 years of accounting experience, preferably in the biomedical or life‑sciences industry.
• Strong client focus, accountability, and ability to meet deadlines.
• Excellent decision‑making, problem‑solving, and attention to detail.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
• Experience using the Odoo accounting system.
• Solid understanding of general‑ledger processes, reconciliations, and financial reporting standards.
• Knowledge of tax compliance, audit procedures, and regulatory requirements.
