Accounting & Reporting Specialist – Accounts Receivable

About the role

ABB is seeking a Senior Finance Specialist to lead the Accounts Receivable function within its Automation Business in Egypt. You will be responsible for processing AR transactions accurately and timely, ensuring compliance with internal policies and external regulations, and supporting the financial health of the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Process end‑to‑end accounts receivable activities, verify and reconcile incoming invoices, track payments and resolve discrepancies.
• Manage payment receipts and allocations, applying payments to customer accounts and addressing payment‑related inquiries.
• Send payment reminders to customers, escalate unresolved issues to senior team members when necessary.
• Analyze AR performance, prepare aging and collection reports, and recommend corrective actions.
• Support internal control testing, maintain documentation, and ensure compliance with financial reporting standards.
• Train and mentor junior staff on AR processes and best practices.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or a related field.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in accounts receivable, invoicing, collections, cash application and reconciliations.
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting requirements, internal controls and compliance.
• Experience with ERP systems, preferably SAP, in a project‑based environment.
• Excellent communication skills in English and Arabic.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word, Project and PowerPoint.
