Agricultural Engineer / Product Owner

About the role

Salem Foods is seeking a senior Agricultural Engineer who will also act as Product Owner for its innovative farm‑management platform. Based in the Maadi office, you will oversee crop planning across multiple farms while shaping the IoT and AI‑driven decision‑making system.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and execute crop cycles for all Salem Foods farms, ensuring consistent SOPs.
• Monitor on‑farm activities such as irrigation, fertigation, pest control, harvesting and replanting.
• Serve as the central decision‑making hub in Cairo, supervising farm‑level agricultural engineers.
• Travel regularly to farms to validate data, observe practices and feed insights back into the platform.
• Define product direction for the Salem Foods Platform in partnership with the engineering team at Salem Ventures.
• Translate agronomic knowledge into clear product requirements for the AI decision‑making layer.
• Run proof‑of‑concept trials on farms to compare AI recommendations with ground truth.

Required profile

• BSc in Agricultural Engineering or related discipline (Cairo University, Ain Shams, Zagazig or equivalent).
• Strong agronomic foundation with hands‑on field experience.
• Analytical and scientific mindset, comfortable working with data and challenging assumptions.
• Fluent written and spoken English.
• Valid driver’s license.
