AI Engineer (TS//SCI) – Counterintelligence Polygraph Required

About the role

Accrete is seeking an AI Engineer to design and deliver intelligent automation solutions for high‑stakes government and national‑security workflows. The position blends data science, machine learning, and workflow automation to transform manual, knowledge‑intensive processes into AI‑driven operations.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and prioritize manual, repetitive processes that can be automated with AI.
• Design, develop, and prototype AI‑enabled workflows that combine data ingestion, machine learning, and large language models (LLMs).
• Build systems that extract information, reason over data, generate structured outputs, and trigger downstream actions.
• Implement retrieval‑augmented generation, autonomous agents, and tool‑use capabilities within mission‑critical applications.
• Develop human‑in‑the‑loop and human‑on‑the‑loop designs that meet government legal and regulatory requirements.
• Iterate rapidly based on user feedback, evaluating accuracy, reliability, and scalability of automation solutions.

Required profile

• Active TS//SCI clearance with a Counterintelligence Polygraph.
• Proven experience applying data science and AI to real‑world, high‑impact problems.
• Ability to translate ambiguous mission requirements into functional AI prototypes.
• Strong analytical judgment and a collaborative mindset for multi‑disciplinary teams.
