Assistant Food Manager – Retail Food Operations

About the role

The Assistant Food Manager supports the IKEA Food operation at Mall of Arabia, overseeing the Restaurant & Café, SFM & Bistro, and co‑workers restaurant. The role focuses on driving profitability, ensuring customer satisfaction, and maintaining high standards of health, safety, and sustainability.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the three food profit centres (Restaurant & Café, SFM & Bistro, co‑workers restaurant) and drive profitability.
• Manage day‑to‑day food service operations to meet financial goals and enhance the overall store experience.
• Ensure health, safety and regulatory compliance for visitors and co‑workers.
• Develop and mentor a strong team, fostering future leaders within the department.
• Integrate sustainability initiatives across all food‑related functions.
• Contribute to the IKEA Food action plan using store and country business plans.
• Adapt high‑volume dishes to local tastes and maintain an appealing product range.
• Maximise sales through commercial and operational excellence.
• Maintain the co‑workers restaurant offering nourishing meals in a pleasant environment.
• Account for profit and loss, achieve budget targets, and monitor financial performance against unit, national and global benchmarks.
