About the role

The Assistant Manager, Document Control will lead the creation and maintenance of both physical and electronic document archives. This role ensures secure storage, efficient retrieval, and compliance with corporate policies across all departments.

Key responsibilities

  • Establish and manage centralized physical and digital archives, including backup and recovery processes.
  • Develop, implement, and enforce document control policies, naming conventions, and retention schedules.
  • Oversee version control, classification, indexing, and disposal of records.
  • Lead the administration and continuous improvement of Document Management Systems (DMS) and related automation tools.
  • Design document workflows, metadata standards, and template consistency.
  • Manage contract documentation, repositories, version tracking, renewals, and key milestones.
  • Control access rights, confidentiality levels, and user permissions in line with data protection regulations.
  • Conduct periodic audits to ensure regulatory and internal compliance.
  • Serve as the central point of contact for document owners, legal teams, and stakeholders.
  • Train users on DMS usage, digital archiving practices, and formatting standards.
  • Define KPIs, drive continuous improvement, and supervise document control staff and external providers.

Required profile

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Management, MIS, Library Science, Commerce, or Law (English).
  • 8+ years of experience in document control, records management, or digital archiving.
  • Proven experience developing document control policies and governance standards.
  • Strong understanding of compliance, confidentiality, and data protection practices.
  • Excellent communication skills in Arabic and English.
  • Leadership and stakeholder management abilities.
