Assistant Professor – Computer Science (Tenure‑Track)

About the role

The Louisiana State University at Alexandria seeks a tenure‑track Assistant Professor in Computer Science. The faculty member will join the Department of Mathematics & Computer Science, teaching undergraduate courses in Computer Science and Information Technology both in‑person and online, and will support the university’s partnership with LSU Online.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver undergraduate Computer Science and IT courses in face‑to‑face and online formats.
• Maintain high instructional standards and employ innovative teaching methods.
• Hold regular office hours and provide academic support to students.
• Advise students on academic and career planning.
• Participate in departmental committees, meetings, and curriculum development.
• Engage in scholarly activities and professional development.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in Computer Science or a closely related field (ABD candidates considered if degree completed by hire).
• Demonstrated excellence in classroom and online teaching.
• Experience teaching a broad range of undergraduate Computer Science and IT courses.
• Familiarity with online course development and delivery.
