The successful candidate will teach undergraduate courses, lead an active research program involving students, and help expand the department’s academic offerings.

Key responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate lecture and laboratory courses in Molecular Biology, Genomics, Bioinformatics, Cell Biology, and related subjects.
• Develop and maintain a scholarly research program that engages undergraduate students.
• Provide academic advising, mentorship, and regular office hours for students.
• Employ innovative teaching practices and contribute to curriculum development, assessment, accreditation, and program review.
• Serve on departmental, college, and university committees.
• Collaborate with faculty on student recruitment, retention, undergraduate research, and community outreach.
• Assist in the development of new biology degree programs, including online offerings.
• Maintain accurate records and fulfill university reporting requirements.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Genomics, Bioinformatics, Genetics, Cell Biology, Computational Biology, or a closely related field from a regionally accredited institution by the appointment date.
• Demonstrated potential for effective undergraduate teaching.
• Evidence of scholarly productivity and the ability to involve undergraduates in research.
