Assistant Professor of Nursing (Tenure‑Track)

About the role

Louisiana State University of Alexandria seeks a full‑time, tenure‑track Assistant Professor of Nursing. The faculty member will deliver classroom, laboratory and clinical instruction for the Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) program and, as needed, support the RN‑BSN program.

Key responsibilities

• Teach courses in the ASN program (primary) and RN‑BSN program (adjunct as required).
• Design and implement effective teaching and learning strategies for classroom, lab, and clinical settings.
• Participate in departmental and university committees.
• Ensure student compliance with health and safety requirements.
• Provide student counseling, advising, and maintain regular office hours.
• Assess student performance in both classroom and clinical environments.
• Develop course schedules and syllabi in line with university policies.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Nursing.
• Minimum two years of clinical experience as a registered nurse.
• Active Louisiana RN license or Compact license.
• CPR certification and documented health compliance.
• Obtain Certified Nurse Educator credential within three years of hire.
