Associate Engineer – Remote

About the role

The Associate Engineer role at HendrenAI is an entry‑level, fully remote position focused on building voice‑AI and automation solutions for the healthcare ecosystem. You will work under senior engineers, contribute to well‑scoped features, and gain hands‑on experience with industry‑grade integrations and compliance standards.

Key responsibilities

• Write, test, and debug clean code for defined tasks under senior guidance.
• Implement small features and bug fixes in an existing codebase.
• Participate in code reviews both as reviewer and reviewee.
• Develop and maintain unit tests to ensure reliability.
• Collaborate in daily stand‑ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives.
• Learn product architecture, integration points (Epic, athenahealth, Liberty/RedSail) and compliance requirements (HIPAA, SOC 2, HITECH).
• Document work clearly and ask proactive questions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 0–1 years of professional software development experience, including internships or significant projects.
• Strong foundation in data structures, algorithms, and version control (Git).
• Eagerness to learn, strong communication skills, and a collaborative mindset.

Required skills

• Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Java, or Go.
• Experience with Git for version control.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) – preferred.
• Understanding of REST APIs and databases (SQL or NoSQL) – preferred.
