Athlete Specialist

About the role

The Athlete Specialist supports the Athlete Marketing program by coordinating athlete-related activities, managing day-to-day operations and helping plan and deliver athlete projects and activations. The role builds strong relationships with athletes and key stakeholders, develops knowledge of athlete marketing and the wider sports ecosystem, and prepares you to take greater ownership of athlete initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate ongoing communication with athletes and internal and external stakeholders, and support athlete onboarding and scheduling.
• Maintain accurate athlete information, calendars, contracts and deliverables, and track schedules, competitions, appearances and content commitments.
• Support the planning and execution of athlete projects, activations, content productions and appearances, including on-ground execution and athlete briefings.
• Coordinate operational requirements across athletes, teams, clubs, federations, agencies and partners.
• Maintain athlete trackers, contract documentation, project records and databases, and track budgets, purchase orders and invoices.
• Monitor deliverables and timelines, prepare regular athlete updates, project reports, post-project evaluations and key learnings.
• Develop knowledge of athlete marketing, contracts, rights and brand-athlete partnerships, and stay informed on sports developments.

Required profile

• 1-3 years of experience, preferably in sports, athlete management, sports marketing or a related field.
• Strong sports knowledge and understanding of athletes, teams, competitions and the sports ecosystem.
• Strong interest in developing a career in athlete marketing and management.

• Excellent communication, interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong organizational and project management skills, able to handle multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Good negotiation and influencing skills, with strong follow-up and administrative skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and take ownership of responsibilities.
