Backend Software Engineer – SaaS Contact Center

About the role

Maqsam, the leading Arabic AI‑powered contact‑center solution in the MENA region, is looking for a Backend Software Engineer to join its innovative SaaS team. You will work on cutting‑edge AI‑driven products, contributing from design through deployment to enhance customer experience.

Key responsibilities

• Translate business requirements into well‑defined technical solutions and implement them.
• Debug and troubleshoot complex software issues in a high‑availability environment.
• Optimize system performance through testing, code refinement, and performance tuning.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to integrate new technologies and frameworks.
• Conduct code reviews to ensure quality and adherence to best practices.
• Document development processes, code changes, and critical information accurately.
• Participate in design and architecture decisions for internal systems and databases.
• Support junior engineers and help onboard new team members.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of experience in backend or full‑stack web development.
• Strong foundation in computer science, data structures, algorithms, and scalable system design.
• Proven ability to write high‑quality, readable, and maintainable code.
• Experience with relational databases and their integration.
• Excellent problem‑solving, analytical, and communication skills.
• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
• Willingness to continuously learn new technologies and frameworks.
