BIM Engineer - Bridges & Tunnels

About the role

Egis, an international engineering, consulting and construction firm active in architecture, infrastructure and mobility services, is looking for a Structures BIM Engineer for its Cairo office. You will build BIM models of complex projects such as bridges, tunnels, civil structures, viaducts and other linear and vertical structures, supporting the BIM Coordinator and the project delivery teams.

Key responsibilities

• Create 3D/2D dimensional models for drawing preparation, clash reporting and presentation, aligned with project LOD requirements and modelling standards.
• Extract 3D models for clash analysis, schedule review and quantity surveying.
• Coordinate model interfaces with designers and engineers of other disciplines and check all models, drawings and deliverables against project and company quality standards.
• Prepare engineering drawings from the model (arrangements, layouts, profiles, sections) and extract 2D geometry for internal reviews and coordination meetings.
• Deliver Project Information Models according to the agreed TIDP, MIDP and CDE protocol, and prepare BIM package submissions.
• Run clash detection and visual walkthroughs, and prepare models and reports for constructability analysis.
• Work with the lead technical engineer to ensure timely completion of deliverables.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Engineering from an accredited institution.
• Minimum 6-8 years of experience, including 4-5 years with Revit.
• Ability to set up new Revit project files for the team, produce Revit families and maintain a family library.
• Strong problem-solving and multitasking skills.

Required skills

• Expert Revit skills: parametric modelling, Bill of Materials, assemblies, sub-assemblies, families, federated models via Revit Links, worksets and shared coordinates.
• Clash detection in Revit and working drawings in Revit.
• Essential: Revit Structure, Dynamo, Rhino, Grasshopper, Navisworks, ACC, Revizto and AutoCAD.
• Preferred: ProjectWise, Synchro, Bluebeam Studio, Autodesk Inventor Professional, SketchUp, 3ds Max.
