Buyer – Procurement Specialist

About the role

Saipem is seeking an experienced Buyer to manage the end‑to‑end procurement process for goods, services and sub‑contracts. You will ensure purchases meet cost, time and quality targets while complying with corporate policies and standards.

Key responsibilities

• Issue Requests for Quotation (RFQs) independently based on approved requisitions.
• Serve as the primary vendor contact, providing technical and commercial guidance while maintaining bid confidentiality.
• Prepare commercial and economic bid tabulations, evaluate proposals and recommend actions.
• Lead economic and commercial negotiations to secure best value and terms.
• Draft purchase orders and sub‑contracts using General Purchase Terms and Conditions and Project Special Conditions.
• Finalize bidding by obtaining order confirmations and notifying unsuccessful bidders.
• Follow up on orders, negotiate revisions or amendments, and support post‑award activities.
• Execute procurement activities in strict alignment with corporate procedures and digital tools.
• Review technical documentation within purchase requisitions to ensure commercial alignment.
• Manage contractual documentation and archives before central transfer.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Procurement or a related field.
• 5–7 years of procurement experience.
• Excellent spoken and written English.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
• Familiarity with SAP (preferred).
