Case Worker – Refugees and Migrants

About the role

The Case Worker will provide protection and case management services for African and Syrian children in Alexandria, supporting their best‑interest assessments, psychosocial needs and integration into community‑based protection mechanisms.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct Best Interest Assessment (BIA) interviews and draft assessment reports.
• Carry out Best Interest Determination (BID) when required.
• Make referrals and coordinate with partner organisations.
• Monitor and follow‑up on individual cases of unaccompanied minors and children at risk.
• Ensure case management complies with Save the Children policies, donor requirements and child safeguarding standards.
• Support the project team in planning activities, developing monthly plans and producing case‑load reports.
• Facilitate orientation sessions, workshops, follow‑up visits and co‑facilitate psychosocial support sessions.
• Promote children’s rights and contribute to emergency response efforts.
• Demonstrate leadership on safeguarding, code of conduct, health and safety and equal‑opportunity policies.

Required profile

• Experience in child protection and case management, particularly with unaccompanied minors.
• Familiarity with Best Interest Assessments and Determinations.
• Ability to work collaboratively with partners and coordinate referrals.
• Knowledge of donor reporting requirements and safeguarding policies.
• Willingness to work in Alexandria and travel to Damietta as needed.
• Capacity to respond flexibly in emergency situations.
