Category Specialist

About the role

We are seeking a highly analytical and commercially driven Category Specialist to support the growth and performance of assigned product categories. You will work closely with the Senior Category Manager to manage day‑to‑day operations, supplier relationships, pricing, assortment, and commercial analysis.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily performance of assigned categories, monitoring sales, GMV, gross margin and key KPIs.
• Support the development and execution of category growth plans and identify profitability opportunities.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, coordinating pricing updates, promotions, product launches and commercial activities.
• Negotiate payment terms, rebates, credit terms and promotional agreements.
• Monitor supplier performance, purchase orders, stock availability and resolve operational issues.
• Analyze category performance, SKU productivity, assortment gaps, pricing competitiveness and customer demand.
• Conduct competitor benchmarking, market analysis and prepare weekly/monthly performance reports.
• Collaborate with Supply Chain, Operations, Finance, Marketing, Product and Customer Success teams to ensure seamless execution of initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Marketing, Economics or a related field.
• 1–3 years of experience in Category Management, Commercial, Buying, Retail, E‑commerce or FMCG.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
