Chief Accountant

About the role

Eyewa is launching its first retail operation in Egypt and needs a senior finance professional to build the accounting function from the ground up. As the inaugural finance hire, you will own the complete accounting cycle, ensure statutory compliance, and lay the financial foundation for rapid growth.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement the chart of accounts, accounting policies, and financial processes aligned with Eyewa Group standards.
• Lead the selection, configuration, and ongoing management of the ERP/accounting system.
• Set up banking, treasury, and payment workflows in coordination with the Managing Director and regional finance team.
• Execute the full accounting cycle: journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, fixed‑asset accounting, and month‑end/year‑end close.
• Prepare accurate financial statements and reports for the Managing Director and regional headquarters.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable, supplier payments, and store cash and revenue reconciliation.
• Oversee inventory accounting in partnership with the supply‑chain function.

Required profile

• Minimum 7 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a fast‑growing retail environment.
• Demonstrated ability to set up accounting functions, implement ERP systems, and establish internal controls.
• Strong knowledge of Egyptian statutory compliance and tax regulations.
• Proven track record of delivering accurate month‑end and year‑end closes.
