Chief Accountant – Relocation to Tripoli, Libya

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Chief Accountant to lead the finance function of a leading Retail & F&B group in Tripoli. The role offers a full relocation package and the chance to shape financial processes in a dynamic market.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all accounting operations, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
• Manage month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end closing processes.
• Ensure compliance with local financial regulations and international reporting standards.
• Develop and maintain internal controls and accounting policies.
• Lead, mentor and evaluate the accounting team.
• Coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in a senior accounting position.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Professional certification such as CPA or CMA is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations and reporting standards.
• Fluent English communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with accounting software.
• Experience using ERP systems.
