Chief Accounting Officer – Egypt & Saudi Arabia

About the role

The Chief Accounting Officer will lead accounting, tax, treasury and reporting functions for Artelia’s entities in Egypt and Saudi Arabia. This senior finance professional will ensure compliance with local regulations, group policies and internal controls while supporting project‑based operations across the region.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day accounting, bookkeeping, accounts payable/receivable, accruals, provisions and intercompany transactions for both countries.
• Manage payment processing, invoicing, collections and perform regular bank, customer, supplier and intercompany reconciliations.
• Ensure timely preparation and filing of all tax declarations, statutory reports and coordinate audits with external advisors.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting packages for the Regional Finance Director and group finance teams.
• Handle banking relationships, cash‑flow forecasting, treasury planning and maintain controls over bank accounts and signatories.
• Coordinate administrative functions such as insurance, office management, telecom services and local registrations.
• Collaborate with project managers, HR, legal, procurement and group finance to streamline financial and administrative processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; professional qualification (CPA, ACCA, CMA) is a plus.
• 10–15 years of progressive accounting and finance experience, preferably in multinational or engineering consultancy environments.
• Strong knowledge of local accounting standards, tax compliance and statutory reporting in Egypt and Saudi Arabia.
• Fluent in English and Arabic; French is an advantage.
• Proven ability to meet strict deadlines, manage multiple priorities and maintain high accuracy.
