Coordinator of Student Life

About the role

The Coordinator of Student Life supports the Student Life office at Louisiana State University of Alexandria and leads a wide range of campus programs that enhance student engagement, safety, and wellbeing.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and coordinate the master calendar of campus events, including welcome weeks, cultural, recreational, and wellness programs.
• Provide a visible on‑campus presence during evening and weekend events to ensure student safety, monitor behavior, and activate emergency protocols.
• Plan, develop, execute and evaluate leadership and risk‑management programs for Greek Life, including required trainings for officers and members.
• Coach and meet with fraternity and sorority chapter leaders, and assess program effectiveness through attendance tracking and surveys.
• Collaborate with Residence Life, academic departments and other units to deliver co‑curricular programs that foster community‑building and student success.
• Organize logistics for late‑night events, weekend trips and campus traditions, handling facility reservations, equipment setup and catering.
• Promote events through social media, flyers and university portals to maximize participation.
• Serve on university committees and represent Student Life at orientations, recruitment events and special initiatives.
• Supervise student staff and perform other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Self‑motivated, independent, cooperative, flexible and creative.
• Available to work non‑traditional evening hours, typically Monday‑Friday, 5 pm‑10 pm.
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and resolve conflicts.
• Effective verbal communication skills.
