Cost Accountant – East Owinaat

About the role

The Cost Accountant will support daily costing activities for a manufacturing operation that produces French fries and hash browns. You will ensure accurate cost data, variance analysis, and inventory reconciliation to enable informed decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Calculate and maintain standard costs for finished goods, intermediate products, raw materials and packaging.
• Update cost components (materials, labour, overhead) as directed and support new product costing.
• Collect manufacturing data, compute purchase‑price, usage and yield variances, and prepare variance reports for the Costing Controller.
• Track waste, downtime, efficiency metrics and monitor raw‑material price changes.
• Assist with monthly inventory valuation, physical counts and reconciliation of count variances.
• Prepare routine costing reports for management and support month‑end closing with journal entries.
• Maintain organized documentation for costing calculations and support internal or external audits.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Costing or a related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in costing, accounting or manufacturing finance, preferably in food processing or FMCG.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication abilities.
• Attention to detail, ability to work under pressure and collaborate in a team environment.
