Data Engineer & Analytics Developer

About the role

The Data Engineer & Analytics Developer will join Apache Egypt’s Exploration and Development teams to build and maintain a robust data platform. Reporting to the Geomatics Manager, the role focuses on ingesting, transforming, and delivering upstream data as actionable insights aligned with PPDM standards.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines for upstream data ingestion and transformation.
• Integrate data from subsurface, production, and external sources into data warehouse and lakehouse structures.
• Implement data validation, quality checks and optimise data models for query performance.
• Develop and maintain BI dashboards for exploration analytics using Power BI and Sigma.
• Build semantic data models, curated datasets and perform ad‑hoc analysis for asset teams and leadership.
• Collaborate with geoscience and GIS teams to ensure data readiness and operational reliability.
• Maintain documentation, monitoring and CI/CD pipelines for data workflows.

Required profile

• 5–10 years of experience in data engineering, analytics or related roles.
• Strong programming skills in SQL and Python (including Pandas, PyArrow, PyProj).
• Experience building ETL/ELT pipelines, data workflows and CI/CD pipelines.
• Proficiency in developing dashboards with Power BI and Sigma.
• Solid understanding of data modelling, transformation and PPDM data standards.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Analytics or a related field.
