Data Privacy Partner – Egypt

About the role

The Data Privacy Partner safeguards personal data across AstraZeneca Egypt, ensuring alignment with local data protection laws and AstraZeneca's Global Data Privacy Standard. Reporting to the Compliance Business Partner and working closely with the Head of Legal, the role embeds ethical, compliant practices into everyday operations.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the local Data Privacy Subject Matter Expert, ensuring compliance with Egyptian data protection legislation and global standards.
• Maintain and update the Record of Processing Activities (ROPA) and related documentation.
• Advise the Senior Leadership Team on data‑privacy requirements and support incident response, including breach containment and notifications.
• Review Privacy Impact Assessments for high‑risk projects such as Transform Care, Patient Assistance Programs, and AI‑driven digital tools.
• Implement and oversee consent management, privacy notices, and end‑to‑end Data Subject Request processes.
• Collaborate with the Global Privacy Office to translate global initiatives into local actions.
• Embed Privacy by Design and Privacy by Default across functions, partnering with Legal, Commercial, HR, and IT.
• Design, deliver, and track regular data‑privacy training for employees.

Required profile

• Demonstrated expertise in Egyptian data‑protection law and GDPR.
• Experience maintaining ROPA and managing privacy‑related contracts.
• Proven ability to advise senior leadership and handle data‑breach incidents.
• Strong collaboration skills with cross‑functional teams.
