Demand Planning Manager

About the role

General Motors is seeking a Demand Planning Manager to lead demand‑supply alignment across its vehicle and component programs. Reporting directly to the GM office, the role is onsite and focuses on accurate forecasting, capacity planning and schedule stability.

Key responsibilities

• Lead monthly demand and supply alignment processes, balancing sales demand with manufacturing and supply base capabilities.
• Improve forecast accuracy for models, options and parts through structured planning and analytics.
• Integrate vehicle and component capacity planning into demand plans to ensure supply readiness.
• Conduct cross‑functional reviews to identify capacity gaps, supply constraints and allocation alternatives.
• Develop and maintain planning metrics, reporting dashboards and performance analytics.
• Identify workflow gaps and drive continuous‑improvement initiatives, including automation and data integration.
• Track and follow up on crippled units on a weekly basis.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, supply chain, production engineering, mechanical engineering, business or a related field.
• 4‑6 years of experience in demand planning, supply planning, production planning, scheduling, industrial engineering or operational excellence.
• Proven ability to collaborate across manufacturing, logistics, purchasing and program teams.
• Strong communication skills for presenting planning insights, risks and recommendations.
