About the role
Nexus Analytica is looking for a Design Engineer specialized in HV/MV substations to support giga‑scale utility projects. You will develop and review substation designs that enable safe, reliable integration of large‑scale renewable generation into transmission and distribution networks.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare and review engineering deliverables for HV/MV substations, including single‑line diagrams, layout drawings, grounding and lightning protection plans.
- Perform electrical design calculations such as grounding studies, lightning protection, cable sizing, voltage drop, short‑circuit, auxiliary load, and equipment sizing.
- Develop technical specifications, datasheets, BOQs and material requisitions for substation equipment.
- Support selection and design of major equipment – power transformers, GIS/AIS switchgear, circuit breakers, disconnectors, CTs, VTs, surge arresters, harmonic filters, shunt reactors, capacitor banks and reactive power compensation.
- Review vendor drawings, calculations and submittals for compliance with project, grid code and international standards.
- Coordinate with solar plant, civil, structural, mechanical, protection, control, SCADA and construction teams to ensure integrated design delivery.
- Assist project execution through design reviews, procurement support, site queries, construction clarifications and commissioning assistance.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
- 4–8 years of experience in HV/MV substation design within utility, renewable energy, EPC, industrial or consulting environments.
- Proven ability to work across multidisciplinary teams in fast‑paced projects.
