Direct Material Purchase Expert

About the role

We are looking for a Direct Material Purchase Expert to lead negotiations, manage supplier relationships and drive cost‑effective sourcing of key materials across our global operations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead negotiations and finalize contracts for assigned materials, targeting strategic price, quantity and delivery goals.
• Track material price developments and collaborate with development teams on technical ratio measures.
• Develop and maintain global material group strategies and manage supplier portfolios as a technical SME.
• Run local sourcing activities, evaluate suppliers based on total cost of ownership, compare offers and document decisions.
• Continuously scan global and local markets for innovations, risks and opportunities to inform sourcing strategies.
• Evaluate, onboard and ensure compliance of new suppliers with Supplier Quality Management standards.
• Manage strategic supplier relationships, negotiate framework agreements and handle escalations, risks and performance issues.
• Serve as the daily operational contact for suppliers to ensure performance and resolve issues.
• Coordinate with Supply Chain, Global Development, Supplier Quality Management and other teams to align forecasting, sourcing and product development decisions.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or master's degree in engineering, economics or supply chain.
• 5‑7 years of commodity management experience, preferably in global purchasing or procurement.
• Experience with SAP S/4HANA.
