Director of Finance

About the role

The Director of Finance will provide hands‑on financial oversight while delivering forward‑looking analysis to support daily operations and long‑term strategic initiatives. Reporting to the Managing Director, this role partners with department leaders to strengthen financial processes, improve performance visibility, and ensure efficient, sustainable property operations.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all accounting functions, including general ledger, accounts payable, payroll, and financial reporting.
• Ensure accuracy and timeliness of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Maintain strong internal controls and coordinate annual audits, tax filings, and regulatory compliance.
• Lead the annual budgeting process, ongoing forecasting, and development of financial models for decision‑making.
• Provide variance analysis and actionable insights to senior leadership.
• Support capital projects, construction, renovation, and ROI analysis.
• Manage cash flow, banking relationships, and liquidity to meet operational and capital needs.
• Guide the Accounting Manager and finance team, fostering collaboration across operations, HR, and other departments.

Required profile

• Proven experience in hands‑on financial oversight and strategic financial analysis.
• Ability to present financial data and interpretation to ownership.
• Strong track record in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Experience coordinating audits, tax filings, and ensuring regulatory compliance.
• Capability to evaluate cost structures, identify efficiency opportunities, and support capital investment decisions.
