Director of Security

About the role

The Security Director leads the development and governance of the organisation's security strategy across all assets, projects and facilities. This senior role ensures the protection of people, property and business operations through robust security frameworks, risk management and emergency preparedness.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement security strategy, policies, standards and governance for all operational and development assets.
• Provide strategic oversight of security operations, protecting people, facilities, communities and corporate assets.
• Establish risk management frameworks and conduct periodic risk assessments, threat analyses and vulnerability evaluations.
• Lead crisis management, business continuity and emergency response planning.
• Manage outsourced security service providers, ensuring contractual compliance and cost‑effectiveness.
• Direct implementation and optimisation of physical security systems such as CCTV, access control, perimeter protection and command centres.
• Collaborate with Facility Management, HSE, Legal and Operations to integrate security into overall resilience.
• Prepare security performance reports and present strategic initiatives to executive management.
• Lead, mentor and develop the security management team and control the annual security budget.

Required profile

• Police Academy graduate or former police/military officer, preferably with experience in large‑scale real estate, mixed‑use or hospitality environments.
• Professional security certifications such as CPP, PSP, ISO 18788 or ISO 22301 are highly preferred.
• Proven senior leadership experience in security operations, risk management and crisis response.
